| Additional information |
The Twin Maples series was introduced by the Royal Canadian Mint as a direct response to collector demand for fractional gold at a more accessible price point than the full-ounce Maple Leaf. The obverse die for this issue marks the first year of RCM coinage to carry the Coronation portrait of Charles III, following the effigy transition that swept Commonwealth mints through 2023 and 2024 at varying speeds depending on each mint's die inventory and production schedule.
