| Reverse description | Detailed depiction of a Eurasian Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo) in two perspectives: a large close-up of the owl's face and upper body dominates the upper portion of the field, while a second smaller owl is shown in full flight with wings outstretched in the lower portion. A small circular cartouche at the upper left contains a map highlighting the owl's European range. The inner border features an intricate Celtic knotwork chain pattern encircling the design. The fineness inscription appears along the lower rim. |

At 0.311 grams of .9999 fine gold, this is a fractional issue designed almost entirely for the bullion gift and novelty market — the Solomon Islands has no meaningful domestic gold coinage tradition, and the denomination bears no relationship to any circulating currency. Port Moresby and Honiara have both become prolific issuers of this type of licensed wildlife coin through European minting intermediaries, most commonly the Münze Österreich group.
