The bust is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. | Reverse description | Two armadillos depicted in high relief occupy the central field: a large adult armadillo shown in three-quarter view with finely detailed scutes dominates the upper portion, while a smaller armadillo in full profile faces left in the foreground, its articulated banded shell rendered with exceptional precision. A small intaglio globe vignette highlighting South America appears to the right of the smaller animal. The entire composition is framed by a decorative geometric border of interlocking diamond and cross motifs along the inner rim.
