| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a close-up study of the superb lyrebird (Menura novaehollandiae), the iconic Australian motif that has appeared on the ten-cent coin since 1966, rendered in exceptional detail. The large numeral 10 is prominently displayed to the left of centre, overlapping the intricately engraved tail plumage of the lyrebird, whose sweeping lyre-shaped tail feathers and filamentary plumes fill the field in a naturalistic composition. The engraver's initials SD are incused in the lower field. The denomination is indicated solely by the numeral, with no additional text legend on the reverse. |

The Royal Australian Mint's transition to Charles III portraiture required adopting the effigy developed by sculptor Jody Clark, the same portrait already in use on British and Canadian issues. Australia was notably slower than some Commonwealth members in rolling out the new obverse, with circulation coinage continuing under the Elizabeth II portrait well into 2023. This gold restrike of a circulating denomination is part of a now well-established RAM practice of producing bullion and proof parallels to everyday coinage — the 12.22 g weight targets a precise quarter-troy-ounce of .9999 fine gold.
