Obverse description The national arms of El Salvador occupy the central field, depicting a volcanic landscape flanked by two triangular mountains and a rising sun, enclosed within an ornamental shield supported by five national flags and laurel branches forming an open wreath at the base. A radiant cap of liberty surmounts the shield. The circular legend REPUBLICA DEL SALVADOR arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters, while the silver fineness mark 835 and the date 1911 appear in the lower exergue, separated by the base of the wreath. The entire design is bordered by a beaded inner circle and a reeded edge.
