This denomination was struck to commemorate the International Amateur Swimming Association Junior Championships hosted in Thailand in 2007 — a modest regional sporting event that nonetheless prompted Bangkok to issue a commemorative bimetallic piece within its ongoing Rama IX commemorative framework.
