Reverse description The Imperial chrysanthemum seal, rendered as a large sixteen-petalled flower with a raised central disc and radiating petals divided by fine incised lines, occupies the centre of the field. Surrounding the chrysanthemum, Japanese legends in Kanji characters are arranged along the inner border, reading clockwise from the upper left: the country name and commemorative inscription at the top and sides, the denomination at the lower left, and the reign-year date at the bottom. A beaded border frames the entire design.
