| 正面描述 | Central field features the Russian Federation's double-headed eagle coat of arms in high relief, depicted with spread wings, an imperial orb and sceptre, and a shield bearing the mounted St. George on the breast. The legend РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ curves along the upper periphery in Cyrillic. Below the eagle, in two lines across the lower field, appear the inscriptions БАНК РОССИИ and 10000 РУБЛЕЙ, with the date 2020 г. beneath. To the lower left, the fineness and weight specifications Au 999 and 1 кг are inscribed, alongside the serial number № 000 and the Saint Petersburg Mint (СПМД) privy mark at lower right. The entire design is struck on a deeply mirrored prooflike field, enhancing the sculptural quality of the relief. |

Part of Russia's large-format wildlife series, this kilo gold piece was issued under a program the Bank of Russia has sustained since the 1990s to produce prestige bullion with domestic fauna themes. The tundra wolf (*Canis lupus albus*) inhabits the Arctic and sub-Arctic zones across northern Russia and Siberia — one of the largest subspecies by body mass, well-documented in Russian zoological literature since Pallas described it in the 18th century.
At just over a kilogram of .999 gold, mintages for pieces of this scale are typically in the low hundreds. The CBR reference 5221-0032 places it within the confirmed 2020 issue schedule.
