| Obverse description | The national arms of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupy the central field, depicting a hydroelectric dam and power lines framed by sheaves of rice, surmounted by a radiant five-pointed star above a mountain landscape. A ribbon at the base of the arms bears an inscription in Hangul. The circular legend naming the Central Bank of the DPRK runs along the upper periphery in Hangul, while the denomination '1 원' (1 Won) appears in large characters at the bottom of the field, flanked by decorative floral ornaments. The design is rendered in high relief against a deeply recessed mirror-polished field, giving it a proof-like appearance. |

| Reverse description | The central field depicts a crowd of demonstrators marching and raising their fists and flags beneath a stylised mountainous landscape evoking Mt. Paektu with a crater lake suggested in the background. Participants carry banners inscribed '조국통일' (Reunification of the Fatherland) and '우리민족끼리' (By Our Nation Itself), rendered in dynamic relief against a mirror-polished ground. A vertical inscription in Hangul to the right reads '백두에서 한라까지' (From Paektu to Halla). The upper legend '6.15 통일대축전 기념' (Commemorating the June 15 Grand Unification Festival) arcs along the upper rim, while the Juche date '주체94 (2005)' is inscribed along the lower rim. |
