| Obverse description | A plain cross with splayed arms centered within a raised inner circle, dividing the field into four equal quadrants. The cross is rendered in a simple, bold style characteristic of medieval Venetian hammered coinage. A circular legend surrounds the inner circle, bearing the name and title of the Doge in abbreviated Latin. The coin's irregular flan and worn surfaces are typical of small billon torneselli struck for circulation in the Venetian colonies. |
