| Obverse description | Laureate and armoured bust of Emperor Leopold I facing right, the crown of the head touching the inner rim, with the inner circle interrupted below the bust. The emperor is depicted in elaborate plate armour with fine decorative detail. The surrounding Latin legend reads LEOPOLDVS D G ROM IMP SE AV G H B REX IAN, identifying him as Holy Roman Emperor and King of Hungary and Bohemia. The portrait reflects the high-relief baroque engraving style characteristic of the Graz mint under Johann Anton Novak. |
