Obverse description Right-facing draped and armored bust of Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor, wearing a laureate wig with flowing curls, armored pauldron with decorative lambrequin detailing, and an Order sash crossing the chest, denoting his role as joint ruler with Empress Maria Theresa. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque tradition, with fine engraving of the cuirass scales and drapery. The encircling Latin legend runs clockwise from the upper right of the field. A small engraver's mark appears at the base of the bust truncation.
