Reverse description Central design features a large five-pointed star with a double dotted inner border, occupying most of the field, with the inscriptions ONE STELLA and 400 CENTS arranged within the star's interior. Flanking the points of the star, reading around the field, are the mottoes E PLURIBUS UNUM (upper arc) and DEO EST GLORIA (right side), along with FOUR DOL. in bold letters at the base below the star. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arcs along the upper periphery. The design is enclosed within a finely reeded border, the overall composition engraved by Charles Edward Barber.
