Reverse description A crowned, one-tailed rampant lion facing left, holding a curved halberd — the traditional heraldic symbol of Norway — depicted within a laurel wreath. The royal motto appears in a continuous Latin legend outside the wreath, with the date divided and placed below the wreath on either side. The mint mark appears between the lion's hind legs. A beaded ring borders the design along the outer rim.
