(Translation: Frederik III King of Denmark, Norway, of the Wends and the Goths by the Grace of God)
Reverse description A crowned, two-tailed rampant lion passant guardant, the heraldic symbol of Norway, depicted holding a curved halberd (Danish-Norwegian axe) in its raised forepaw, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The mintmark appears between the lion's hind legs. A royal Latin motto legend encircles the design outside the inner circle, with the split date 16-58 incorporated at the end of the inscription.
