| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Christian V facing right, rendered in high relief with fine portraiture typical of late 17th-century Scandinavian coinage. The badge of the Order of the Elephant is displayed beneath the bust, serving as a mark of royal dignity. A continuous Latin legend encircles the effigy, separated from the toothed border by a beaded inner ring. The portrait exhibits the characteristic long periwig fashionable at the Danish court of the period. |

| Reverse description | Crowned and quartered royal coat of arms displayed upon a cross pattée, with a central escutcheon bearing the arms of Schleswig, Holstein, Stormarn, and Dithmarschen. The larger shield quarters contain the arms of Denmark, Norway, the Nordic Union, the Goths, and the Wends. The entire achievement is encircled by the collar chain of the Order of the Elephant, with the date divided by the mintmaster's initials (HCM) and the badge of the Order appearing in the lower portion of the field. A circumferential Latin legend and a beaded inner ring complete the design. |
