| Obverse description | Crowned effigy of King Christian III in right-facing profile, depicted with a sceptre resting on his shoulder. The bust is rendered in the Renaissance style typical of mid-sixteenth-century Scandinavian hammered coinage. An inner leaf circle frames the central design, beyond which the Latin legend runs in a continuous band around the periphery. The rim is defined by a raised beaded border. |
