Lorenzo Celsi's dogeship lasted just four years before his death in 1365, making his coinage among the shorter-issued of the trecento doges. The soldino denomination had been introduced only decades earlier as Venice's monetary system adjusted to the demands of Levantine trade, where small silver fractions were essential for port transactions that the grosso was too valuable to settle efficiently.
The CNI VII reference places this among a tightly documented series, but surviving examples remain scarce relative to longer reigns.
