Obverse description The Doge Andrea Contarini depicted standing in full figure, facing slightly to the right, robed in ducal vestments and wearing the ducal corno, holding a long staff or sceptre in his right hand. An engraver's initial appears to the right of the figure in the field. The circumferential legend in Latin runs around the periphery of the flan, separated by pellets.
