| Reverse description | Central field features a large crowned heraldic shield bearing the arms of Oslo (Akershus), depicting a vertical key or similar civic device on a dotted or ermine-like field, surmounted by a royal crown in high relief. The shield is enclosed within a beaded inner border. The surrounding Latin legend MONETA NOVA ASLOENSIS 1535 runs around the periphery of the irregularly shaped flan, proclaiming this as the new coinage of Oslo, with the date 1535 integrated into the legend. The overall design reflects the archaic, flat-relief hammered technique characteristic of Norwegian provincial minting of the period. |
