Christian II ruled Norway, Denmark, and Sweden simultaneously — a personal union that collapsed spectacularly when Swedish nobles rose against him in 1520 after he massacred around 90 of their number in what became known as the Stockholm Bloodbath. He was deposed by the Danes themselves in 1523, ending the ten-year window in which this skilling could have been struck.
Skaare 307 is among the thinner-documented Norwegian medieval issues, with surviving examples spread across Scandinavian institutional collections rather than the open market.
