| Obverse description | Large unadorned bare head of King Oscar I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely engraved flowing hair and a small chin beard, occupying the majority of the flan. The truncation of the bust is plain and undecorated. The encircling legend reads OSCAR SVERIGES NORR. GÖTH. O VEND. KONUNG., distributed around the periphery within a raised rim, identifying the monarch as King of Sweden, Norway, the Goths and the Wends. |
