Obverse description A panoramic cityscape of Lucerne occupies the upper portion of the field, depicting the historic Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) with its distinctive covered wooden structure in the foreground, flanked by the Water Tower and various ecclesiastical and civic buildings along the riverbank, with the alpine massif of Mount Pilatus rising dramatically in the background. In the lower right of the field, the heraldic coat of arms of the City of Lucerne is displayed within a cartouche supported by two lion supporters beneath a mural crown. The legend LUZERN appears in raised capital letters to the lower left of the field.
