Additional information

San Marino was admitted to the United Nations on March 2, 1992, ending decades of deliberate non-membership — the republic had long maintained that full UN participation conflicted with its neutrality. The commemorative coinage program surrounding accession was characteristically prolific; San Marino treated the event as a rare occasion to issue across multiple denominations simultaneously.

Fr#57 places this squarely in Friedberg's Italian gold listings, where San Marino issues consistently appear in lower mintage runs than their Italian counterparts from the same period.
