Reverse description Two crossed keys of Riga, the symbol of the city's ecclesiastical authority, displayed in the central field within a beaded inner circle. The keys are shown in saltire, with their bows uppermost. The surrounding circular legend, rendered in Gothic lettering, reads the mint and date formula, with the final digit of the year rendered as a reversed 'Z' due to the die-cutter's convention. The composition is characteristic of Riga municipal coinage of the Livonian period.
