Obverse lettering MONETA · NOVA · CIVI · CI
(Translation: Moneta Nova Civitatis New coin of the city)
Reverse description Central field displays two crossed implements — a sword and a key arranged saltire-wise — referencing the heraldic attributes of the Bishopric of Dorpat and the city's ecclesiastical authority. The devices are contained within a beaded inner circle. A Latin legend in Gothic-influenced lettering encircles the outer field, identifying the mint as Dorpat. The coin shows characteristic irregularity in flan shape and strike depth consistent with mid-16th century hammered copper coinage of the Livonian region. Surface retains original patination with evidence of age-related porosity.
