(Translation: Hermann Dei Gratia Episcopus Darpatensis Hermann, with God`s grace, Bishop of Dorpat)
Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a crossed sword (pointing left) and episcopal key (pointing right) arranged saltire-wise, without a shield, representing the arms of the Bishopric of Dorpat. The devices are rendered in a bold, simplified style characteristic of hammered billon schillings of the period. The surrounding Latin legend is separated from the central design by a plain raised border, with the inscription distributed around the full circumference of the coin.
