| Obverse description | Central field bears the imperial Persian legend 'Sahib-i-Qiran Sani Shah Jahan Badshah Ghazi' (Lord of the Auspicious Conjunction, Second, Shah Jahan, King, Warrior of the Faith) inscribed in bold Nasta'liq script arranged within a rectangular cartouche. The legend is distributed across multiple registers, with the royal epithet prominently occupying the central zone. A floral ornament is visible in the left margin of the field. The flan is irregular and slightly scalloped at the edges, consistent with hand-struck Mughal hammered coinage of the period. |
