| Reverse description | The reverse displays a two-line Islamic profession of faith (Kalima Tayyiba) rendered in bold Naskh Arabic script within a plain linear cartouche, occupying the central field. The upper line reads 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no god but Allah) and the lower line reads 'Muhammadun rasulullah' (Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah). Additional legends or mint and regnal year notations appear in the margins or lower field, consistent with Mughal rupee convention for the Kabul mint. The overall style is vigorous and deeply struck, characteristic of the Kabul mint's hammered coinage under Shah Jahan. |
