| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field bears the Kalima (Islamic declaration of faith) inscribed within a raised square frame, divided into quadrants by intersecting lines in the established Mughal style. The names of the four Rightly Guided Caliphs — Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali — are placed in the four corners or margins surrounding the central square. The regnal year 1068 AH (corresponding to 1658 CE) appears at the top of the design, and the mint name Surat is also present within the legend. The calligraphy is executed in a bold Naskh hand, typical of Mughal silver coinage of the period. |
