Reverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Persian-Nastaliq legend in three registers divided by two horizontal ruled lines, following the standard Mughal rupee format. The inscription reads 'Zarb Azamnagar Sanah julus maimanat manus', identifying the mint name Azamnagar (Belgaum-Shahpur) and invoking the auspicious reign. Decorative pellets and small ornamental devices are scattered in the margins and between the inscription bands. The calligraphic style is characteristic of the transitional Bombay Presidency issues struck in the name of the Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah.
