Obverse description Central field bears the royal Persian legend 'Sikka Mubarak Badshah Ghazi' (Blessed coin of the King, Warrior of the Faith) in Nasta'liq calligraphy, arranged in three horizontal registers separated by raised lines. The name 'Muhammad Shah' appears prominently in the upper register. The irregular flan is characteristic of hand-struck Mughal coinage, with portions of the marginal legend visible around the rim.
