| Obverse description | The obverse bears the royal Persian legend arranged in three horizontal registers across the field, divided by raised parallel lines characteristic of Mughal rupee design. The upper register contains 'Muhammad Shah Badshah Ghazi' (Muhammad Shah, Emperor, Champion of the Faith), while the central register prominently displays the epithet 'Ghazi' in bold Naskh script. The lower register carries the Hijri regnal date 1149, flanked by additional legend elements. The coin is struck on an irregular flan with the legends filling the full diameter in the established Mughal calligraphic tradition. |
