| Reverse description | The reverse presents a three-line inscription in Nasta'liq script set within a floral and foliate field, with decorative leaf and bud motifs filling the surrounding space. The uppermost line records the mint name Patna (پٹنہ), while the central and lower lines respectively bear the Hijri regnal year (سنه) and the Jalus (جلوس) accession year of Emperor Jahangir. A prominent horizontal rule divides the field, a stylistic feature common to Mughal rupees of this period. The beaded border, consistent with the obverse, encircles the entire design. The die work is characteristically bold, with deeply cut Arabic letterforms typical of the Patna mint's production under Jahangir. |
