Reverse description The reverse displays a multi-line Arabic legend in bold Nasta'liq calligraphy arranged in horizontal registers across the field, giving the emperor's full regnal title and the mint-date formula. The central inscription reads 'Nur al-Din Muhammad Jahangir Badshah Ghazi', identifying the ruling Mughal emperor. Below, the mint name 'Zarb Lahore' (struck at Lahore) appears alongside the Hijri regnal year. Delicate floral and foliate arabesques fill the background interstices between the lines of text, consistent with Mughal artistic convention. The field is bounded by a plain inner circle and a prominent beaded outer border.
