Reverse description The reverse field is similarly filled with a Persian poetic legend in bold Nasta'liq script in high relief, reading 'Ze Naam-e-Shah Jahangir Shah Akbar Noor' (From the name of Shah Jahangir, son of Shah Akbar, the Light), arranged in sweeping bands across the flan. The regnal year (RY) numeral appears in the lower field in Arabic numerals. Floral and dot ornaments are interspersed between the lines of inscription, consistent with Mughal artistic conventions at the Lahore mint. The coin displays the characteristic irregular flan shape typical of hammered Mughal rupees of this period.
