| Obverse description | Central field occupied by bold Arabic calligraphy in the nasta'liq style, bearing the royal kalima and the name and titles of Emperor Jahangir. The inscription is arranged in sweeping diagonal strokes characteristic of Mughal hammered coinage, filling the flan. The legends are set within a plain border of raised dots encircling the periphery of the coin. |
