| Obverse description | The obverse bears a multi-line Persian legend in Nasta'liq script arranged in three horizontal registers across the round flan, reading from bottom to top. The central field contains the imperial coin declaration and the regnal title of Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir, with the AH date incorporated within the legend. Decorative pellet ornaments are visible in the margins separating the lines of text. The inscription reads: 'Sikka zad dar jahan ju mehr-e-munir Shah Aurangzeb Alamgir', affirming the emperor's sovereign right to strike coinage. |
