| Obverse description | The obverse bears a two-line Persian poetic couplet (the 'badr munir' verse) inscribed within a rectangular cartouche formed by two horizontal lines dividing the field. The AH regnal year appears in the lower portion of the field below the cartouche. The inscriptions are rendered in a bold Naskh-style Arabic script typical of Mughal coinage of the Aurangzeb period. A small floral or pellet ornament is visible in the field. The entire design is contained within a plain circular border. |
