| Obverse description | Square hammered silver flan bearing the Islamic declaration of faith (Shahada) inscribed in bold, deeply struck Naskh-style Arabic calligraphy across two lines within the field. The upper line reads 'La ilaha illa Allah' (There is no god but God) and the lower line reads 'Muhammad rasul Allah' (Muhammad is the messenger of God). The legends fill the entire square flan, with the text framed by a plain linear border following the irregular square perimeter. The calligraphy is rendered in a robust, flowing style characteristic of Mughal imperial coinage of the Akbar period. |
