Obverse description The obverse bears a three-line Persian legend in Naskh script arranged in horizontal registers across the coin field, reading from bottom to top: 'Sikka Mubarak / Badshah Ghazi Ahmad Shah / 1161 AH'. The inscription is divided by two raised horizontal lines creating three distinct bands, a characteristic format of late Mughal hammered rupees. The regnal title 'Badshah Ghazi' (Victorious King) occupies the prominent central band, while the Hijri date 1161 appears in the lower register. The legends are boldly struck in high relief on an irregularly shaped flan typical of hand-struck Mughal coinage.
