Part of Belarus's ongoing regional costume series, this issue documents the traditional dress of Kalinkovichi, a district in Gomel Oblast with a textile heritage tied to the Pripyat Marshes region. The National Bank of Belarus has produced dozens of these ethnographic pieces since the early 2000s, making the series one of the more exhaustive documentary efforts in post-Soviet commemorative coinage — methodical to a fault, and largely ignored by anyone outside specialist collectors of Belarusian issues.
KM#754 places this among the later entries in a catalog that had already assigned numbers deep into the 700s by the mid-2010s.
