Aanvullende informatie

Transnistria — officially the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic — remains unrecognized by any UN member state, yet its Republican Bank has issued coins continuously since the early 1990s. This 2020 rouble commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Soviet victory in the Great Patriotic War, a date observed with particular intensity in Tiraspol, where Soviet-era symbolism never left public life. The anniversary year prompted commemorative issues across the former Soviet space, but few issuing authorities carry the political freight of a state that exists largely because Russian peacekeeping troops have remained on its territory since 1992.
