Obverse description Enthroned frontal effigy of Queen Christina of Sweden, crowned and robed in royal regalia, seated upon an ornate throne flanked by decorative supports. The queen holds the regalia of sovereignty and is depicted in a hieratic, majestic pose characteristic of mid-17th century Nordic goldsmith work. The circular legend surrounds the central design within a beaded inner border, reading CHRISTINA D G SUEC GOTH VAND Q REGINA. The overall composition reflects the influence of Renaissance and early Baroque engraving traditions as practiced in the Baltic region.
