| Opschrift voorzijde | CARL XIV SVERIGES NORR. GÖTH. OCH V. KONUNG (Translation: Carl XIV King of Sweden, Norway, the Goths and the Wends) |
| Beschrijving keerzijde | The central device displays the elaborate Swedish royal coat of arms — a quartered shield featuring the three crowns of Sweden and the lion of Folkung — supported by two rampant lions and surrounded by an ornate mantle or chain border with decorative elements including towers and cherubic figures. A large royal crown surmounts the shield at the apex. Below the shield, the denomination 1R. and Sp. appear to the lower left and right respectively, flanking the mint master's initials C.B. and the date 1834, the latter separated by a decorative Maltese-cross motif. The circular legend FOLKETS KÄRLEK MIN BELÖNING (The love of the people is my reward) runs along the upper periphery, enclosed within a toothed border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Carl XIV Johan — born Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte, a French marshal under Napoleon — became King of Sweden through one of the more improbable dynastic accidents of the nineteenth century, elected crown prince by the Swedish Riksdag in 1810 after the last Vasa heir died without issue. He never learned Swedish fluently. The riksdaler specie was the highest-denomination circulating silver coin of the realm during his reign, and the .750 fineness reflects a deliberate reduction from the purer earlier specie standard — a fiscal compromise tied to the chronic monetary pressures Sweden carried out of the Napoleonic period.
