Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic tughra-style honorific legend arranged in four horizontal bands within a plain inner border, all enclosed by a bold beaded outer border. The inscription reads the full Ottoman royal titulature of Sultan Selim III, proclaiming him Sultan of the Two Lands and Khagan of the Two Seas. The lettering is rendered in a robust, hand-engraved calligraphic style typical of late 18th-century Ottoman hammered coinage. No figural imagery is present, the design being entirely epigraphic in character. The overall style reflects the provincial Tunisian adaptation of standard Ottoman coin iconography.
