Obverse description Central field occupied by the royal legend in bold Nasta'liq calligraphy, reading 'Sikka-yi Fath Ali Shah Khusraw Sahib-Qiran', acknowledging Fath Ali Shah as king and 'Lord of the Auspicious Conjunction'. The inscription is arranged in two registers across the flan, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. The style is characteristic of Qajar hammered coinage, with deeply struck, sweeping calligraphic strokes filling the field.
