Reverse description Central field bearing a bold Nasta'liq calligraphic inscription in three sweeping lines, reading 'Zarb Dar al-Saltana Tabriz 1238,' recording the mint city of Tabriz and the AH regnal year. Delicate floral sprigs and rosette ornaments fill the interstitial spaces between the script lines, consistent with the decorative vocabulary of Qajar mint production. The design is contained within a plain inner circle, itself surrounded by a continuous beaded border along the outer periphery of the flan.
