Obverse description Central field displays the papal coat of arms of Innocent VIII, featuring a divided shield charged with a diagonal band of lozenges (bezants), surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys. The shield is set within the field with no inner border, and the heraldic charge is rendered in the bold, somewhat crude style typical of late 15th-century hammered billon coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the device along the periphery of the flan.
