| Obverse description | Crossed papal keys in saltire, surmounted by a tiara (triregnum), all set within a circular legend border. The design is rendered in a bold, low-relief Gothic hammered style characteristic of late medieval Bolognese coinage. The keys, symbols of papal authority, are depicted with their bows turned outward and upward. A circular legend surrounds the central device, partially legible due to the irregular flan and characteristic wear. The overall composition is concentric and heraldic in character. |

| Reverse description | Enthroned frontal figure of Saint Petronius, patron saint of Bologna, depicted in episcopal vestments and holding a model of the city in one hand and a pastoral staff in the other, rendered in a simplified Gothic hammered style. The saint is seated full-face within the coin's field, with the image occupying the majority of the flan. A circular Latin legend surrounding the figure identifies the saint. The execution is characteristic of anonymous municipal coinage of the XIV–XV century, with naive but recognizable iconographic conventions. |
